A GREAT FINAL DAY FOR THE FESTIVAL

A hot and humid summer Sunday, with sunny spells interspersed with scattered showers, was the perfect backdrop for the closing events of the Festival, the first and only one of its kind in Latin America. In the early afternoon, a small crowd gathered at the Buenos Aires Polo Circo (photo) to attend and participate in a wealth of appealing activities related to Shakespeare’s times, crowned by the hilarious clown performance of the Italian company Filarmonica Clown, truly deserving of a thunderous applause for Amleto Avvisato Mezzo Salvato. At the same time, the Anfiteatro de Parque Centenario was crowded by over 1,600 people vibrating with Romeo and Juliet-inspired songs, outstandingly performed by Oriana Favaro, Duilio Smiriglia, Rocío Arbizu and Enzo Romano, accompanied by Marcelo Ayub on the piano and under the direction of Ximena Belgrano Rawson. Both events were certainly the best ending to a wonderful Festival, inspired by the work of one of the world’s most brilliant artists of all times, with 15,000 people in attendance.

Over 1,600 people crowded the amphitheater of Parque Centenario (photo) last Sunday 19, in the evening, to attend the production of Romeo y Julieta: celebración del amor, which formally closed the second edition of the Festival.
